To me it just leaves this big hole in the system that is not getting utilized in any way, shape, or form. I am wondering if these apps are something Honda plans to offer but has been put on their back burner even before the 2017 RL came out so I think Pilot owners are more annoyed/fed up with this promise of widgets and apps that have not shown up. So I tried to install the version 6.x files I had on my USB drive, I had several from 6.1 through 6.5 to try and all of them still had the same issue that the 'install' button was faded out saying I couldn't install. I did find that the head unit only has about 1 gb of internal storage, less with formatting down into the 800mb range. I went through a bunch of the other settings to see what else there was that could stop the play store from installing. It already was, but I did select the debug mode to be on by default as well. I went into the android settings location and looked to make sure 'unknown sources' was check boxed.
So I got home and searched the Pilot forums for access to all of the development settings on the touchscreen head unit.
